MEWA supplies companies across the whole of Europe from 42 locations with workwear and safety clothing, cleaning cloths, oil-absorption and floor mats, as well as parts-cleaning sinks on a full-service basis. In addition, occupational safety items can also be ordered under the “World Wide Work by MEWA” brand.

MEWA, founded in 1908, is today a leader in the textile management segment. The MEWA service system offers a time-saving and professional alternative to purchasing textiles. Textile management at MEWA means providing, delivering and collecting at agreed times, washing and finishing, repairing and, in the event of wear and tear, replacing.

The enterprise group has around 4,900 employees serving a total of 172,000 customers from industry, commerce, construction, trades, and catering.

MEWA's Belgian branch carries out its activities in Binche. MEWA Binche has 195 employees. 7,200 contractual customers from various sectors – from garages to printing works, and from metal-processing companies to the food industry – entrust the professional care of their reusable cleaning cloths and workwear to MEWA.

MEWA Binche processes approximately 180,000 garments per month. Around 40,200 wearers head onto the work floor in workwear from one of the MEWA collections. To ensure that every wearer always gets their own jacket, trousers, smock or coverall back, each garment is fitted with a barcode. Thanks to the IT-controlled identification system, the journey through the care process from receipt to delivery can be tracked precisely.

For the approximately 1.9 million cleaning cloths, the 4,500 floor mats and the 2,400 towel rolls each month, special industrial washing systems are used. MEWA not only offers the best cloths, but also the best machines for processing as well as highly qualified, motivated employees.

A conscious approach to water, air and energy is among MEWA's core principles. Modern washing processes, computer-controlled dosing and control systems, the reuse of washing and rinsing water, and a physico-chemical-biological wastewater treatment process all contribute to sustainable business operations.
