That starts at check-in, when the guest's name and language are recognised, but goes much further. You enter the room, the television greets you, the touchscreen lights up, the gas fireplace ignites, the temperature is set and curtains open automatically. Your room is ready to go."

Linked to that experience is also a control loop for the hotelier through the building management system. "Automatic presence detection allows exact temperature setting, checking whether windows are open, but also whether a room needs cleaning," Tony explains. "If someone checks out, the room goes into a sleep mode. Those smart systems help keep your energy costs under control."

From room control to access control

The Wizard of Dreams builds a story around home automation products. With a well thought-out plan of action, they stand by the hotelier throughout the process as integrator and buddy. They also remain ready afterwards. "We go for maximum automation that is centrally controlled. That makes running a hotel easier and also reduces operational costs. Does a problem arise? Then we can watch from a distance," says Tony. "At our stand during the Horeca Expo, we want to show access control on the one hand and the operation of a hotel room and how to create atmosphere there with personalised light buttons, room control, access control via smartphone, ...
