Five pergolas in US resort

The boutique hotel Tetherow Resort in the heart of the state of Oregon (USA) is a dream destination for hikers, fishermen, golfers and holidaymakers who just want to unwind in nature. Under the Renson Camargue poolside pergolas, guests can enjoy the outdoors in luxury. With their integrated lighting, heating and speakers, the pergolas can be transformed into a stylish party space next to the water in no time. 

Tetherow is a resort with a golf course, 50 rooms and a number of holiday homes. The resort is popular with outdoorsmen who enjoy paddleboarding, fly-fishing, climbing, mountain biking ... Owner Chris Van Der Velde: "Next year, we will probably have about 20,000 guests over. We welcome guests from all over the country, from New York to Texas, who expect a luxury experience during their stay. We work on that every day. When we built our fitness centre, we wanted to put stylish beach houses by the pool to create a luxurious environment. The Camargue pergolas turned out to be the ideal complement."

A product with many faces

To meet the requirements of the Tetherow Resort, the pergolas had to look good in the first place. The Camargue fit the bill perfectly. Renson selected the right colour palette and tailored everything to the owners' requirements. "It was also important that the patio covers have integrated heating, lighting and speakers for any parties," adds Van Der Velde. "Renson was able to subtly incorporate all those options." But the pergolas were mainly installed to provide shade for guests wanting to relax next to the pool. "The beauty of this system is that you easily open and close the awnings in the roof with the remote control," Van Der Velde continues. "Those who want more sunlight simply open the slats. That way, the sun rays fall between them. When closed, the slatted roof is waterproof and water drains away through the back. Even when it rains, the pool remains enjoyable."

This is the first project in the United States where Renson installed five Camargues as separate 'pool houses'. Integrated screens can separate them from each other, as separate units. For poolside events, the patio covers can also be combined into one large party venue. Hotel guests can now sit by the pool all year round.

Innovative patio canopy with slatted roof 

The Camargue has an aluminium construction and a roof made of aluminium slats with a zero degree pitch. The one hundred and fifty-degree tilting slats provide shelter from the sun and are designed so that precipitation is drained to the side columns. Even when the slats are opened after a rainstorm, precipitation flows away through that drainage. Optional features include lighting, heating elements and flat speakers. Moreover, the system can be installed either as a stand-alone (four columns), on the façade (two columns) or built into an existing opening (without columns). The Camargue is available to order with dimensions of up to 4,500 millimetres (span side) by 6,200 millimetres (tilt side). The units can be linked together on both the tilt and span sides.
