Italian elegance in the heart of Saint-Émilion

From vineyard to wellness: outdoor spaces as an extension of the hotel concept

In the French wine region of Saint-Émilion lies Château Hôtel Grand Barrail, an extraordinary five-star hotel that brings together luxury and heritage. Between rolling vines and medieval villages, the château reflects the grandeur of a bygone era. But today's comfort and aura? These are partly due to a thoughtful design of the outdoor spaces, realised with furniture by Talenti Outdoor Living.

For the terraces, gardens and balconies of the suites, the choice fell on the Cruise Teak Collection, designed by Italian duo Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba. “This collection combines timeless shapes with the warm, natural character of high-quality teak,” says Talenti importer Marco van Loon. “The reference to cruise ships of yesteryear is subtly reflected in the design: clean lines, rounded corners and a balanced interplay between wood and textiles.”

The dining chairs and lounge chairs chosen are in neutral tones and complemented by custom-made dining tables in both round and square versions, matching the Château's scale and ambience. The fabrics are weather-resistant and removable, a practical detail that does not detract from the luxurious look.

Functional design for the wellness area

Equipped with sauna, hammam and whirlpool, Château Grand Barrail's spa required furniture suitable for this humid environment. Architect Jean-Philippe Nuel, responsible for the castle's renovation, chose Talenti's Riviera Collection. The loungers from this modern line were designed with humid environments in mind. With aluminium frames, quick-drying foam cushions and easy-care upholstery, they are ideal for the spa.

A harmony of styles

Talenti also provided furniture for the outdoor areas of the wellness complex around the Château (where visitors can book massages, body treatments, manicures and pedicures). Van Loon: “Different collections such as Allura and Frame are combined here in a carefully matched colour palette. Natural materials such as teak and aluminium form the basis, while the fabric lining plays with shades of sand, light grey and accents of warm red.”
