Saphir ceramics from LAUFEN differ fundamentally from traditional sanitary ceramics, both in composition and performance. The distinction lies in the addition of corundum, a mineral almost as hard as diamond. This makes the material exceptionally strong. This allows products to be designed with minimal wall thicknesses and an extremely small radius of just one to two millimetres, whereas traditional ceramics typically require seven to eight millimetres.
