Quality Lodgings grows to 126 hotels in 8 countries

New guide to quality hotels 2026 proposed

Quality Lodgings launched the QL Guide 2026 at its annual Start of the Year Event, with 19 new hotels, including eight in Germany, eight in the Netherlands and three in Belgium. The collection now includes 126 independent quality hotels in eight European countries. During the event, which took place at Kasteel Kerckebosch in Zeist, a new direct booking module and the strategic direction for further international expansion were also presented to more than 100 member hoteliers.

For over twenty years, Quality Lodgings (QL) has been the collection of Europe's most exceptional hotels, where authentic hospitality, character, and gastronomy come together. QL is therefore a leading quality network for independent hotels in Europe. The QL Guide serves as a compass for travellers who thoughtfully curate their stays and value quality in the details.

Strong growth in Germany

The further expansion in Germany is closely aligned with Quality Lodgings' international development strategy. With the addition of eight new German hotels, the collection in Germany grows to 29 addresses. Quality Lodgings is expressly focusing on further anchoring in the DACH region by 2026, with the aim of strengthening its position as the leading quality network for independent hotels in Europe. The total collection now consists of 73 hotels in the Netherlands, 29 in Germany, 16 in Belgium, 4 in Switzerland, 2 in Austria, and hotels in France, Italy and Norway.

“We see that independent hoteliers are increasingly valuing collaboration without losing their autonomy. Especially at a time when the industry faces challenges, the need for strong networks and practical support is growing. With QL Benefits and our direct booking solution, we offer concrete tools that help become more competitive, while each hotel retains its own identity,” explains Pauline Verhoef, managing director of Quality Lodgings.

Substantive programme with an eye for innovation and entrepreneurship

During the substantive programme of the Start of the Year Event, hoteliers were updated on the most important developments within Quality Lodgings. For instance, the new direct booking module was presented, which supports QL hotels in direct bookings and central online visibility. QL Benefits was also explained: the collective purchasing and benefits programme with which hoteliers leverage economies of scale and save costs in areas including purchasing, services, and partnerships. The afternoon concluded with an inspiring keynote by Olaf Lemmers, who guided attendees through his vision on entrepreneurship, positioning, and future-proof hospitality management.

Launch of QL Guide 2026

The highlight of the day was the launch of the QL Guide 2026, introducing 19 QL New Discoveries. The first copy was handed over to Dennis Koot, owner of Herangtunet Mountain Lodge (Norway), which graces the cover of this year's guide, and to Cynthia Schell and Hans van Triest, owners of host venue Kasteel Kerckebosch.

“That I am standing here today says everything about what Quality Lodgings means to us”, says Dennis Koot, owner of Herangtunet Mountain Lodge. “QL is not just a label, but a network of like-minded hoteliers who prioritise quality and authenticity. The fact that Herangtunet is on the cover of the QL Guide this year feels like a recognition of our shared story.”
