Revor Group becomes the first in its sector to receive a gold EcoVadis medal

Boxspring and mattress manufacturer from Kuurne also joins the Flemish Green Deal Waardeketens

Revor Group, a manufacturer of boxsprings and mattresses from Kuurne in West-Flanders, is taking a new step in its sustainability journey. The company won a gold medal at EcoVadis, after previously achieving silver, making it the first company in its sector to receive this recognition. At the same time, Revor Group signed the Green Deal Waardeketens commitment declaration, a three-year initiative by the Flemish government to make international value chains more sustainable and resilient.

From silver to gold

EcoVadis is an internationally recognized platform that assesses companies in four areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable purchasing policy. Globally, more than 150,000 companies have been assessed by EcoVadis. A gold medal is reserved for the top 5% of all companies assessed.

With the transition from silver to gold, Revor Group confirms that its approach goes beyond good intentions. The assessment looks at concrete policies, actions, and results, providing customers and partners with an independent benchmark. The recognition is here to be viewed.

Joining the Green Deal Value Chains

On October 15, 2026, the Green Deal Waardeketens was launched in Brussels. Revor Group signed the commitment declaration there, together with other companies, governments, knowledge institutions, and experts. The initiative runs for three years and is supported by, among others, the Department of the Environment, VLAIO, Flanders Investment & Trade, and MVO Vlaanderen.

A large part of a product’s impact arises outside the company’s own walls: during the extraction of raw materials, with suppliers, and during transportation. With the Green Deal, Revor Group commits to mapping the risks and opportunities in its value chain and to implementing at least one concrete action, within the company or together with its chain partners. In doing so, the focus is not only on the environmental impact, but also on the people in the chain and their working conditions.

“As a manufacturer of boxsprings and mattresses, we work with wood, foam, textiles and metal. We want to know exactly where those raw materials come from and under what conditions they are made. The Green Deal helps us to address that even more closely with our suppliers.”, says Carine Michiels, Purchase & Product Manager at Revor Group.

Sustainability as a starting point, not as an extra

The gold medal and the Green Deal do not come out of nowhere. Revor Group has been working for years on sustainability in the broadest sense: from the choice of materials to what happens to a product at the end of its life cycle. In this way, the company markets fully circular products, and sustainability is central to every new product development.

“Sustainability is not a separate project for us, but the way we conduct business and develop and manufacture products. The fact that EcoVadis has now awarded us gold as the first company in our sector is a great recognition for the entire team.
