For Hotek, international cooperation goes beyond just delivering technology. It's primarily about trust, personal contact, and truly understanding what customers really need. That's why Hotek has been collaborating with Regina Coeli for years, the well-known language institute known as the “nuns of Vught.”.
Duco Salomons, CEO of Hotek, consciously invests in his German language skills. As he himself says: “Language is an important part of international cooperation for me.” For Hotek, Germany is an important market, where more and more hotels are switching from mechanical keys to modern access systems.
Also Jan Harberink, Facilities Manager at Regina Coeli, emphasises the value of a strong collaboration. Regina Coeli asked Hotek to replace all hotel room locks, with two clear requirements: rooms had to be securable from the inside, and it had to be visible from the outside whether a room was occupied. Hotek translated that request into a fitting solution and immediately thought ahead, with the possibility of also adding mobile key technology in the future.
The collaboration between the two organisations has now been running for eleven years. As Harberink puts it: “It’s not a supplier, it’s simply a partner of yours.”
For Hotek, this project demonstrates what modern hospitality is all about: safety, efficiency, flexibility, and personal contact. Increasingly, hotels are opting for modern access systems, such as key cards and mobile solutions like Your Mobile Key. Language plays a central role in precisely this development: those who understand customers better can also offer better solutions.
