What if all the systems to manage a hotel housed under one roof? The advantages are great such as smooth cooperation between the different systems. A single point of contact ensures that any problems are quickly resolved and no discussion is possible. This is not a dream scenario as Belgium recently acquired a certified white checkout system.
Managing a hotel properly requires several systems. From now on, Focus Hospitality can offer solutions that take care of the full breadth of the technological side of a hotel. The PMS - Property Management System - Protel is the system where reservations come in, where invoices are made and guests can check in and out. After the Revenue Management System Revcontrol and the payment system Planet Payment, the POS system Breeze forms the final link.
Focus Hospitality is launching the new POS system Breeze on the Belgian market. The Breeze system was recently certified as a white cash register and fully integrates with PMS Protel.
Breeze has it all. All the features a POS system needs can be found in this solution without links to other partners. When it comes to things like table reservations or the QR codes to menus, these are external applications in most systems. Furthermore, Breeze has specialised in working with kitchen screens to replace paper receipts in the kitchen. Through the touchscreens, orders are always visible so that communication with the kitchen and the venue can be optimised.
What does a good POS system consist of?
"A good POS system has a user-friendly interface to record orders and communicate clearly with the kitchen. This is done at Breeze by arranging the screens in a clear way. The products that can be chosen are provided with help questions such as which side dishes can be served with them? Or the screen gives combination tips that are recommended to customers. The system runs entirely on Android tablets. This is an added advantage because these tablets are very budget-friendly. If a tablet breaks down, it can be replaced quickly and easily," explains Mike Valcke of Focus Hospitality.
Was there demand for such systems from the industry?
"We have especially noticed a need for systems where there is less ping-pong played between different suppliers. When problems arise, different parties point the finger at each other. The big advantage of an integrated system is that everything is organised within one and the same manufacturer, which means you will find solutions much faster if a problem arises. The strength of a system is just when everything stays within its own software and there are far fewer failures. An additional advantage is the combination of Breeze with Protel. By integrating these two systems, you can call up a screen at reception to place an order in the restaurant and forward it to the kitchen," says Mike Valcke.
Meanwhile, is the Breeze POS system in use?
"The system was recently certified for the Belgian market, which only now allows us to start commercialisation. The first systems are currently being offered to customers. Breeze has already proven its soundness in other European countries. In France, for example, it has been on the market for several years. It took a little longer in Belgium because here a certification system is required for the white box office. The manufacturer has arranged the certification for Belgium so that we can now start here. When the system is sold, we provide training for both the users and the restaurant owner. We teach people how to work with the system so they can work with Breeze autonomously. We make ourselves redundant. Our intervention is no longer even needed when creating new establishments," concludes Mike Valcke.
