Exclusive outdoor wellness in Bruges former mayor's house

In early December 2023, B'Guest, located at Oude Zak 47 in Bruges, opened its doors. A bed and breakfast combined with a unique and luxurious outdoor wellness experience right in the heart of the city. Nestled in an idyllic garden and wedged between the Speelmansrei and the Professor Dr J. Sebrechtspark, the exclusive wellness oasis offers the ultimate combination of relaxation and privacy. 

The B'Guest complex is housed in a gatehouse from the 17th century. This building was lovingly renovated by Caroline Demol and Gert Verhoestraete in 2020 with respect for the historical elements. The historic building, also known as the 'Old House Pierre Vandamme', served from 1946 to 1983 as the residence of Bruges mayor and founder of the Bruges seaport, Pierre Vandamme.

The private spa, which includes an outdoor Jacuzzi, a striking Iglucraft sauna, steam room and heated outdoor pool, is discreetly located in the lush garden. "Guests can fully immerse themselves in an exclusive wellness experience here, surrounded by peace and nature," says Caroline. "From April to October, the heated pool is open. In winter, it turns into a refreshing plunge pool."

The wellness offers a shower in nature, both hot and cold, a fire pit to relax by and background music or the sound of the nearby Belfry. "There are very few places in Bruges, and by extension in West Flanders, that offer an outdoor wellness. Our location is unique: you are in the centre of the historic city, but it feels like you are in the middle of nature," Caroline and Gert add.

"Guests can also personalise their experience with a pre-ordered breakfast basket, tapas board or sweets and enjoy a stocked bar with a variety of drinks," Caroline continues. "Each session naturally includes towels, slippers, bathrobes, toiletries, coffee, tea, water, fruit, a tablet with relaxing music, a fire pit with wood and wifi. Here you really don't lack anything."

B&B B'Guest is located in the heart of the historic city centre and is very quiet. The Market Square, the Belfry, the Concert Hall, the Beguinage, Groeninge, the main shopping streets, ... all historical sights, museums and other leisure facilities are within walking distance. The nicest bars, hippest cafés and best restaurants are also nearby. "We like a personal and warm approach," say Caroline and Gert. "So we are happy to show you around our city and help you find a restaurant, a fun activity, plan a surprise for your partner, ... We have four spacious and stylish guest rooms at your disposal. Naturally equipped with every comfort: a private bathroom with bath and/or shower, air conditioning, TV and free wifi."

"We also go 'all the way' for breakfast. The menu includes home-baked bread, coffee cakes, homemade granola, fresh fruit juice, a fresh fruit salad, an egg of your choice.
