Quality Lodgings is taking the next step in its international growth strategy with the addition of nine new hotels in Austria, Germany and Belgium. The collection is thus growing to 134 independent quality hotels across eight European countries. The expansion fits within Quality Lodgings' ambition to further position itself as a leading group of independent quality hotels in Europe.
The hotelier is no longer the endpoint of check-in. They are increasingly becoming the starting point for a fully automated guest journey. For SALTO Systems, the term Inspired Access aptly summarises this evolution: access is no longer a purely technical act, but a smart link between guest experience, security, operations, and data.
Food waste remains a persistent challenge for the hotel sector. Nevertheless, it turns out that relatively small interventions can quickly make a big difference. The ibis Budget Hotel in Ghent also discovered this, participating in the European project Hotels Cut Waste together with FoodWIN. The result? A decrease in food waste of 32 percent and a process that pays for itself within the year.
