Classic, modern or luxurious: textiles that grow with you
Anyone who steps into a hotel room feels it immediately: atmosphere lies in details. The colour of the curtain, the texture of the bed headboard, the softness of a pillow. It is precisely those details where Arido makes a difference.
From their workshop in Emelgem, Arido has been designing and manufacturing window decoration, fabrics and customised solutions for the hospitality sector, from boutique hotels to international chains, for more than 30 years.

What sets Arido apart is its complete control over the process. “We work with our own confection workshop and our own installation teams,” says managing director Kaat Bekaert. “This allows us to move quickly, even for large projects of a hundred rooms or more. Good preparation is crucial here: we provide the right fabrics and hanging systems in advance, so that after approval we can move quickly and usually provide curtains - from confection to installation - within two weeks.”
This autonomy offers not only speed, but also quality. Architects and clients can visit the workshop and see how each curtain is stitched, tested and finished. “That open character creates trust,” adds account manager Lieselotte Hellyn. “We show how customisation is created, from design to hanging system. That makes us flexible and transparent.”

Strict safety standards apply in the hotel sector, especially when it comes to fire safety. Arido therefore works exclusively with M1-certified fabrics: textiles that are fire-retardant from the fibre itself. “We never install anything without a certificate,” stresses Lieselotte. “Our fabrics are tested and approved before they go into production. This way, we guarantee that the furnishings are not only beautiful, but also meet all safety requirements.”
Besides safety, acoustics also play an important role. Curtains contribute to a more pleasant sound experience. Something guests subconsciously appreciate. “A soft reverberation, more quiet: that increases the feeling of comfort,” says Kaat. “For us, window decoration is always more than decoration; it is a functional part of the overall experience.”
Arido likes to think beyond the window. Hotels can go there for complete textile concepts: from curtains and voiles to bedspreads, cushions, plaids and even reupholstery of seats or bed heads. “We make sure everything is visually correct,” says Lieselotte. “The colour palette, the fabrics, the textures - the whole thing has to tell one story. We can even incorporate logos or patterns into the fabric, so that the hotel's branding is subtly reflected in the interior.”
Special finishes are also part of the arsenal: wooden slats in more than 100 colours, crafts such as bouillonné curtains for classic hotels, or custom-made embrasse and decorative bands for luxurious interiors. “Some hotels in Paris, for example, love that timeless elegance,” says Kaat. “That requires knowledge of the past, but also precision of today.”

Arido is not limited to Belgium. The company realises projects in France, the UK and other European countries, each time with the same tailor-made philosophy. “Deadlines are tight everywhere, but we can react quickly,” says Lieselotte. “We push our suppliers to go further, literally to the limit. As a result, we can offer hotels at home and abroad the same quality and speed.”
Their international experience means they are familiar with a variety of standards and styles. Whether it is a modern urban boutique hotel or a classic five-star house, Arido translates every concept into a coherent textile story.
Arido's young team loves a challenge. “We like to challenge customers to dare to go a bit further,” Kaat says. “Not always beige or grey. Why not colour, pattern, your own accent? Even within a limited budget, you can bring atmosphere and originality. We help customers create just that touch of ‘wow’ that stays with guests.”
After all, hospitality today is all about experience. Hotels want to distinguish themselves by exuding personality and warmth. “A room is more than a bed and a window. It is the sum of all the details,” says Lieselotte. “And that's exactly where our strength lies: every detail is right.”
