Multifunctional event centre opens doors in Ghent

Flexibility and gastronomy set the tone

In October, SCALA in Ghent will open its doors: a new, versatile event location of no less than 750 square metres. This ultramodern event centre has everything for every conceivable gathering, from international conferences and product launches to intimate dinners and weddings. With flexible layouts, innovative technologies and a high-end culinary offering, SCALA takes every event to the next level.

SCALA, an Italian translation of the river Scheldt, combines modern, bright architecture with maximum flexibility. The nine halls - all named after a Belgian river - are easily customisable thanks to sliding walls and together can accommodate 350 guests. A unique feature is the ability to drive in vehicles and other large objects, ideal for car shows, trade fairs or product presentations. State-of-the-art technology brings stories, ideas and presentations to life. Think of an impressive LED wall measuring 8 by 1.70 metres for which Dead End Gallery created spectacular video art, but which is also suitable for in-house presentations and visuals. The whole is finished off with timeless and elegant furnishings.

Gastronomic experience

A culinary asset within SCALA is ARNO ristorante, headed by Louis Verstrepen, known from Michelin restaurant Da Mimmo in Brussels. ARNO can be hired exclusively for corporate events and offers top-level catering - from sophisticated walking dinners to elaborate wedding banquets. The restaurant brings accessible Tuscan gastronomy, inspired by Verstrepen's love for the region and his years of experience in top restaurants. The warm, elegant interior exudes the atmosphere of Tuscany and offers various seating options, including a private dining option. In addition to ARNO ristorante, SCALA has its own in-house catering team that puts flexibility high on the menu.

Perfect location

SCALA is in a location that combines convenience and accessibility, on the outskirts of Ghent: the lively Akkerhage Center, a dynamic business and events district. With the also new Courtyard by Marriott Ghent hotel, Residence Inn by Marriott Ghent and Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ghent as immediate neighbours, accounting for a total of 405 hotel rooms, it is the ideal base for multi-day events and congresses. From Amsterdam, London and Paris, the event venue can be reached within three hours, and motorists benefit from ample parking on both its own grounds and around them. This makes SCALA the perfect meeting place for national and international guests.
