Strobbo launches ‘Koplopers’: a large-scale benchmarking study for the hospitality and retail sectors in Belgium

Strobbo launches Frontrunners: large-scale benchmark research for hospitality and retail in Belgium

What sets the best hospitality and retail businesses in Belgium apart from the rest? That is what Strobbo, RetailDetail and Foodservice Alliance aim to find out. With Koplopers 2026, they are launching the first major, cross-sector benchmark study on staff scheduling, leadership and operational growth.

Strobbo, the Belgian staff scheduling and time-tracking platform for hospitality and retail, is launching the 'Koplopers' (Frontrunners) initiative together with RetailDetail and Foodservice Alliance: a large-scale benchmark study that maps out what the strongest businesses in the sector are doing structurally differently.

The research is running along two parallel tracks: Horeca Leaders EN Retail Pioneers, both aimed at business owners, regional managers, operations managers and HR professionals. Both surveys consist of 24 questions and take about 12 minutes to complete.

The themes connect closely with the daily reality of entrepreneurs: leadership, operational efficiency, scalability, dealing with peak periods and staff shortages, and, for the retail sector, consistency across multiple branches and the role of scheduling software.

All insights will be collated into a free benchmark report, expected in the autumn of 2026. Participants will be the first to receive the report — even before the wider sector.

What the best companies have in common, without knowing it of each other

The answers are processed anonymously and published transparently, with the aim of enabling sector-wide comparison so that business owners can mirror their own approach against that of hundreds of peers.

The two sector partners, RetailDetail and Foodservice Alliance, are the largest networks in their respective sectors in Belgium. They are responsible for the dissemination of the research among their members and enhance the representativeness of the results.

Participate

Participation in Koplopers 2026 is free and open to all business managers, regional managers, operations managers, and HR officers in the Belgian hospitality and retail sectors.
