The region around Brussels Airport continues to be a strategic hotspot for international business activity. In this context, Belgian Coast & City Hotels is further developing the Mövenpick Brussels Airport into a hotel that caters not only to tourism but, in particular, to the needs of business travellers and international professionals. With the opening of a second phase, new facilities and a focus on mobility, the hotel is growing into a true B2B hub close to the airport.
Mövenpick Brussels Airport is strategically located between Brussels Airport and the European Quarter. “Its proximity to Brussels Airport means we welcome a very international mix of guests,” says Chavalie De Lodder, CEO of Belgian Coast & City Hotels. “Many visitors come for business appointments in Brussels or at European institutions, but at the same time are looking for a place where they can work efficiently and stay comfortably.”
Mövenpick Brussels Airport is part of Belgian Coast & City Hotels, a hotel group that operates both coastal and city hotels. Although the group has a strong historical presence on the Belgian coast, the Brussels hotel clearly caters to a different type of stay: international business travel, short stays, and professional events.
Since opening, the hotel has been further expanded. At the end of last year, a second development phase was completed, bringing the hotel to approximately 150 rooms today, divided into different types. In addition to standard rooms, there are also junior suites and executive suites with kitchenettes and separate living areas. Ideal for guests staying longer or who require a comfortable workspace during their stay.
“With Mövenpick Brussels Airport, we aim to become the leading premium hotel in the airport zone by combining thoughtful design with comfort for business travellers, personal hospitality and a strong culinary experience at Brasserie Horizon,” says General Manager, Jean-Philippe De Haes.
Furthermore, the expansion gives the hotel more flexibility to accommodate different target groups, from individual business travellers to international teams staying in Brussels for extended.

What sets Mövenpick Brussels Airport apart is its emphasis on mobility and practical services for travellers. For example, the hotel features a rotating car park where guests not staying at the hotel can also leave their car. Additionally, it offers a Park & Fly package, where travellers combine an overnight stay with parking facilities and a shuttle to the airport.
“For many travellers, it all comes down to efficiency,” says De Lodder. “With our Park & Fly package, guests can arrange their stay, parking, and transport to the airport all in one go. That makes their journey a lot simpler.” For entrepreneurs and frequent travellers, this is a practical solution that saves time and logistical organisation.
The concept was further refined on a culinary level too. The restaurant was given a new name and identity: Brasserie Horizon. On the top floor of the hotel, guests can enjoy panoramic views over Brussels and the airport. “Local accents and partnerships with Belgian suppliers are preferred. For example, Brasserie Horizon uses wines that have a Belgian connection, even when they are produced internationally,” explains De Lodder. In addition to individual guests, Brasserie Horizon can also be used for events, dinners, or receptions of up to around one hundred people.
The top floor is the heart of the hotel concept. Unlike classic hotels, the reception isn't on the ground floor, but on the top floor. “Guests enter and are immediately surprised by the view and the open space of the restaurant and lobby. The interior concept also includes subtle references to René Magritte. This architectural choice creates a different experience on arrival,” De Lodder proudly continues.
The development of Mövenpick Brussels Airport is not yet complete. Within Belgian Coast & City Hotels, further expansions are already being considered. The group has the ambition to further grow the hotel into an established entity for international travellers and companies visiting Brussels. The combination of a strategic location, mobility services, design, and hospitality should ensure that the hotel becomes the benchmark in the airport zone.
