Master Oak turns hotel Corsendonk-Hooge Heyde into elegance itself

Following an acquisition in 2018, Hotel Corsendonk - Hooge Heyde plenty to a renewed identity. Operational manager Jan-Felix Nédée created a boutique hotel with elegant colour patterns for each room. His team revamped 38 hotel rooms, the lobby, the restaurant, the ballroom and the wellness area, among others. Master Oak plays a leading role in it.

Jan-Felix was working with some materials for the first time: Unilin Clicwall is one of them. Jan-Felix: "In certain rooms, such as our wellness, we needed to create false walls. Clicwall turned out to be perfect for that. Our joiner was able to get to work with clear instructions: which screws are needed? How do you cut the materials in the best way? Clear instructions from Unilin Panels ensured a beautiful result."

"At the end of the project, a Unilin Panels representative also showed us Master Oak," continues Jan-Felix. "It turned out to be the perfect match for our table tops. The boards are very beautiful: they are very similar to oak veneer in terms of finish. Even my own staff had trouble distinguishing Master Oak from real wood.". In addition, Master Oak is also scratch-resistant and colourfast, so the tables remain beautiful with long-term use.

"I definitely wanted to work with a Belgian product for this project," begins Jan-Felix. As he is very fond of natural materials, he looked for decors that are as close to that as possible while being hard-wearing and durable. "The Unilin Panels-products lent themselves perfectly to this renovation: top in terms of price-quality, and they all look luxurious."

Jan-Felix was able to infuse his selected colours throughout. "Most of the decors in HPL are also available in Clicwall. Useful to blend spaces where different materials are used. This creates calmness and recognisability - important in a hotel environment."
